On same day, two adults charged with threats against schools in Durham, Fuquay-Varina
A 27-year-old woman faces criminal charges for making a threat against a Wake County middle School.
Danielle Symone Ward, 27, of Raleigh, allegedly made what authorities called a “false report concerning mass violence on educational property” last Friday against Herbert Akins Middle School in Fuquay-Varina. The Wake County Sheriff’s Office identified and charged Ward on Tuesday.
She was being held on $10,000 bond.
Ward was the second adult in two days to be accused of threatening a school.
On Tuesday, Durham police put C.C. Spaulding Elementary School, at 1531 S. Roxboro St., on secure status after staff there said a parent called the school and “made threats to assault different members of the staff and that she was going to blow the entire school up with everyone in it,” according to Durham police.
