Suspect Already Facing Attempted Murder Charge in NJ Now Arrested for 2019 NYC Trinitario Slay.

A suspect already facing an attempted murder charge in New Jersey has now been arrested for the 2019 Manhattan slaying of a Trinitarios gang member, cops said Tuesday.

Angel Florian, 22, was arrested on May 9 in New Jersey, where he was incarcerated for allegedly shooting a teen and committing a robbery spree that occurred about two months after the Oct. 3, 2019, shooting death of Alberto Martinez in Washington Heights.

Martinez, 27, who cops say was a Trinitarios gang member, was shot in the chest on W. 168th St. near Amsterdam Ave.

The killer fled in a car driven by an accomplice and police later that month released photos of both suspects.

A Manhattan grand jury indicted Florian on murder, robbery, weapon possession and hindering prosecution charges back in September 2022 — but at the same time he was being tried for shooting an 18-year-old man before an accomplice stabbed the victim, who survived the ordeal.

Florian is the second suspect arrested in the Manhattan murder. Jerson Acosta-Batista was arrested in New Jersey on Oct. 12 and hit with the same charges as Florian.

Police released images of two people authorities said were involved in the Oct. 3, 2019 shooting death of a 27-year-old in Manhattan.

Both Acosta-Batista and Florian live in New Jersey and have no criminal record in New York. It was not immediately clear which suspect is believed to have shot Martinez and which was the getaway driver.

Martinez, police said, lived around the block from where he was killed and had 15 arrests on his record, including for gang assault and weapons possession.
