Annapolis shooting leaves three dead, three more injured; person of interest in custody
Three people were killed and three others were injured in a mass shooting Sunday evening in an Annapolis community.
Police confirmed that a person of interest is in custody. At least one weapon was recovered.
“We are saddened for the families and for Annapolis that they have to deal with this,” Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley said. “This can happen anywhere and nothing gets resolved through the use of guns.”
Annapolis Police Criminal Investigation Capt. Lamar Howard said detectives are working to determine a motive, but that it was not a random shooting.
Police also believe the shooting was an exchange of gunfire.
