18-year-old arrested in Volusia Co. after FBI flags his online mass shooting threats
A man was arrested in Volusia County after making extreme threats, officials say.
On Tuesday night, the FBI notified Volusia Sherriff’s Office detectives of numerous threats posted in the comments of a pair of YouTube videos.
Officials say 18-year-old Seth Montes of Deltona made numerous mass shooting threats toward a local church. The sheriff’s office said these threats were made on news broadcast videos about the 2016 Pulse Night Club shooting in Orlando and the 2022 Club Q mass shooting in Colorado Springs.
“Have fun seeing me on the news,” one comment read after making a direct shooting threat.
Other comments referenced mass shooters in Nashville, Tennessee, and Charleston, South Carolina, saying that the man “supported” these shooters and wanted to follow in their footsteps next week, officials reported.
