Pinellas Park teen accused of threatening mass shooting on NYC subway
A Pinellas Park teen was arrested on Wednesday after making threats online to commit a mass shooting on a New York City subway, an arrest affidavit from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office explains.
Robert Trout III, 19, was taken into custody after a video was posted to Instagram showing him with guns saying “I’m gonna shoot anybody I see on that f* train,” according to the affidavit.
Law enforcement says Trout warned people who live in New York City to not take the train Thursday evening.
He reportedly had two pistols and two extended ammunition magazines which were seen in the video posted to Instagram.
“[Trout] threaten to kill at least 60 passengers on New York mass transit, the subway,” the affidavit reads in part. “[He] stated he had 60 rounds of ammunition to kill 60 people.”
