Suspect accused of plowing car into Pueblo Mall food court, claiming to have explosives ID’d

The Pueblo Mall will reopen late Wednesday morning, one day after a driver plowed his car into a crowded food court and then claimed there were bombs inside.

Police gave the “all clear” late Tuesday night after the metro bomb squad determined there was no threat. No explosives were found in the vehicle or in the mall.

While the building was evacuated for hours after the crash, it was full of shoppers at the moment the car careened into the building.

“It was kind of like slow motion in the beginning. It felt like a movie,” said Rita Maes, who was in the food court mere feet from where the vehicle screeched to a stop.
