Detroit man charged with terrorism, threatening senior living facility
A Detroit man has been charged with terrorism after he allegedly made threatening phone calls to a Canton Township senior living facility this month, police announced Tuesday.
Rhyon Colbi Maples, 25, was arraigned in the 35th District Court last week on one count of false report or threat of terrorism, according to the news release.
If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.
The charges follow a thorough investigation after a senior living facility received at least two phone calls on Dec. 2 during which it was threatened with violence, Police Lt. Michael Andes told The Detroit News.
Phone records led police to Maples. They did not disclose the name of the facility that was threatened.
