8 members of ’59 Hoover’ gang convicted in Howard County, say officials

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WBFF) — Howard County announced that members of the “59 Hoover” gang have been convicted of charges ranging from drugs to murder, according to Howard County State’s Attorney Rich Gibson.

One man faces the possibility of life without parole.

Jeremi Lewis was charged with gang involvement, gang leadership and committing a murder on behalf of the organization. He was convicted of nine offenses, and he faces a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole plus 100 years.
Daquan Woodson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery, use of a firearm, first-degree assault and gang involvement. He is sentenced to 65 years in prison, suspend all but 18 years with five years of supervised probation.
Anthony Jenkins pleaded guilty to gang involvement and conspiracy to possess a firearm after disqualifying crime. His sentencing is scheduled for later this month.
Terrence Hux pleaded guilty to possession to distribute marijuana and gang involvement. He is sentenced to 15 years suspend all but four years with five years of supervised probation.
Justin Harper pleaded guilty to gang involvement and illegal possession of ammunition. He is sentenced to 16 years, suspend all but nine years with five years of super probation.
David Wainwright pleaded guilty to CDS possession with intent to distribute and gang involvement. He is sentenced to 15 years, suspend all but 8 years, with five years of supervised probation.
Antonio Haywood pleaded guilty to gang involvement. He was sentenced to 15 years, suspend all but four years, with five years of supervised probation.
Tavon Hawkins pleaded guilty to participation in the gang, and he was sentenced to 15 years, suspend all but four years with five years of supervised probation.
Howard County State’s Attorney Rich Gibson said that “59 Hoover” established operations in Columbia, Maryland, and that the first time Howard County had contact with the gang was in 2011.
