York man, 49, broke into Hanover area medical center and set fire: court records

A York man faces numerous felony charges after a bizarre incident in which he allegedly broke into a Hanover medical center and set a fire Monday morning, according to court documents.

Andrew Zions, 49, of York, faces felony charges of arson, burglary and criminal trespass, along with misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, court documents show. Zions was unable to post $25,000 bail and remains confined in York County Prison, according to records.

At 6:24 a.m. on Monday, March 11, firefighters were called to a fire alarm at the Cherry Tree Surgical Center on the 700 block of Cherry Tree Court in Penn Township, according to York County 911 records.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Penn Township Police Department, when firefighters arrived, they found the front door to the building smashed and an unknown male subject inside.
