Man appears in court over chemicals found in shed
A man has appeared in court charged with possessing explosive substances and the poison potassium cyanide.
Harry Whittaker, 31, of Caddington, near Luton, Bedfordshire, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London. The court was told chemicals were found in a shed at his home on 6 May. He is next due to appear at Southwark Crown Court on 18 June.
Mr Whittaker is accused of possessing an explosive substance for an unlawful purpose and possessing a regulated substance without a licence.
Prosecutor Sally-Anne Russell said the the substance was a “regulated poison under the Poisons Act 1972”.
