1 dead, 16 injured in mass shooting at Tuskegee University; suspect arrested
An arrest has been made after a shooting on the campus of Tuskegee University left one person dead and 16 others injured, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Jaquez Myrick, 25, of Montgomery, has been arrested and charged federally with possession of a machine gun. Myrick is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility for another agency, a MCSO spokesperson confirmed.
Authorities say Myrick was found in possession of a handgun with a machine gun conversion device. Law enforcement officers found him leaving the scene of the shooting, ALEA confirmed Sunday afternoon.
