Indictment adds terrorism charge for man accused of deadly Las Vegas Strip stabbings
A grand jury added a terror charge to two counts of murder for the man charged with a deadly stabbing spree on the Las Vegas Strip two years ago.
The grand jury returned a 15-count indictment against Yoni Barrios on Friday following a judge’s ruling that he was competent to stand trial.
He now is charged with a felony act of terrorism, plus multiple counts of battery and attempted murder to commit or further an act of terrorism.
The indictment alleges Barrios tried to commit an act of terrorism by “using or attempting to use violence to cause great bodily harm or death to the general population.”
An arraignment hearing is scheduled for Dec. 30.
