A 35-year-old man is in the hospital after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound during an incident at the District Court of Baltimore Friday morning.
According to Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley, around 8:40 a.m. on Jan. 31, a 35-year-old man entered the courthouse at 1400 E. North Avenue in Baltimore. It’s unclear why the man was at the courthouse.
Upon arrival, police say that the man was “suffering from a behavioral crisis,” and was seen pacing.
Authorities say that when sheriff’s deputies and bailiffs attempted to interact with the man, he withdrew a gun hidden on his body and pointed it at his own head.
