Okeechobee man gets three years for plotting attacks on high school and Miami church

An Okeechobee man was sentenced to three years for his foiled plot to orchestrate mass casualties at Okeechobee High School and a Miami Church in 2023.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Henry Horton IV was sentenced to three years in prison with 12 years of probation on Monday. The judge also ordered that Horton complete a mental health evaluation and treatment before his release.

In September of 2023, officers with the Jupiter Police Department say they pulled over 19-year-old Horton for his headlights, before discovering more condemning evidence inside his vehicle.

According to previous reports, the officer found a glass water pipe along with multiple handwritten pages stating a plan to purchase firearms, and “kill everyone at OHS with my guns”, which was later discovered to stand for “Okeechobee High School.”
