Multiple Life Sentences For Maryland Mass Shooter: State’s Attorney

Jabre Griffith was sentenced to two life terms plus 120 years on Tuesday, Feb. 18, for the murders of Ernest Hall and Micah Strong, as well as for a violent shooting spree in March 2023, according to Baltimore City State’s Attorney Ivan Bates.

“I do not take a sentence of this length lightly when it is imposed on a defendant, but when someone so clearly has no regard for the lives of others, it is without question that they are a threat to the safety of our entire city,” Bates stated.

“It is a miracle more people weren’t killed during Mr. Griffith’s rampage of violence and destruction,” he continued. “It is especially tragic that one of the victims was a juvenile who will forever be changed by this experience.”

Griffith’s violent rampage began just after midnight on March 23, 2023, when Baltimore police responded to a Shot Spotter alert in the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue.

Officers found six gunshot victims between the ages of 15 and 24, including Hall, who died at the scene.
