A man from Pensacola is facing several charges after allegedly threatening people with a gun and throwing a small explosive device at a Jimmy John’s in Fort Walton Beach.
Deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Gregory Simonds on Saturday. According to an arrest report, Simonds went to the Emerald Coast Harley-Davidson around 2 p.m. that day and pointed a gun at members of a motorcycle club.
The report says as Simonds was driving away he threw something out of his vehicle, which exploded outside a nearby sandwich shop. The explosion shattered several windows and the broken glass cut one of the employees.
Simonds was arrested after a traffic stop. Deputies say they seized two guns and four “m-type” explosives.
