14 arrested across Netherlands for inciting terrorism on social media, including minors
Fourteen individuals between the ages of 14 and 30 were arrested across the Netherlands on Tuesday in connection with multiple investigations into incitement to terrorism through social media. Some of the suspects are minors, according to the Dutch Public Prosecution Service.
The suspects are accused of attempting to incite others to commit terrorist acts, with some of the alleged activity taking place on TikTok. The arrests were carried out in various locations throughout the country and involved multiple regional police units.
The arrests were coordinated by the Landelijk Parket, the national office of the Public Prosecution Service, as part of a broader effort to address terrorism-related offenses carried out online.
Eight of the arrests were made by the Eenheid Landelijke Opsporing en Interventies (National Criminal Investigation and Intervention Unit). Three additional arrests were carried out by the Eenheid Den Haag, two by the Eenheid Rotterdam, and one by the Eenheid Amsterdam.
