Arson suspect arrested after fire at Mesa Tesla dealership, police say

A suspect is facing a charge of arson after a fire was reported at a Tesla dealership in Mesa.

Fire crews were called to the dealership around 2 a.m. after multiple people called to report smoke and flames. There, they found that a Tesla Cybertruck was on fire, fire officials said.

City police said that they’re investigating the fire as a possible arson after photo evidence was reportedly given to investigators.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread to other vehicles or the interior of the building.

Investigators from Mesa Fire and Medical Department, Gilbert Fire and Rescue, the ATF and the County Attorney’s Office helped to investigate.

During the investigation, police made contact with a bicyclist identified as 35-year-old Ian Moses.
