Shasta County man sentenced to 35 years to life for Molotov cocktail attack
Blue Firecloud Abreu was sentenced to 35 years to life in prison on Friday afternoon in a Shasta County courtroom. The Shasta County District Attorney said Abreu was found guilty of three felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a flammable device, and attempted arson of property.
The district attorney said these charges stem from an incident in January of last year when Abreu threw a Molotov cocktail at two victims from an elevated area overlooking a parking lot in eastern Anderson.
According to the district attorney, the judge denied a motion to dismiss Abreu’s prior strike convictions. The decision was influenced by Abreu’s extensive criminal history, which spans his entire adult life, and his total lack of remorse, said the district attorney.
