3 improvised explosive devices found in southern Arizona neighborhood
Law enforcement disabled three improvised explosive devices in southern Arizona within a single week, though no arrests have been made, according to Sahuarita police.
About 7 p.m. on June 20, the Sahuarita Police Department received 911 calls reporting a suspicious, possibly explosive device in a residential area northeast of Interstate 19 and Sahuarita Road, the department said in a news release.
Sahuarita is a town about 30 minutes south of the Tucson area.
Upon arrival and a visual inspection, Sahuarita police made the decision to call the Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s bomb squad.
