Investigation underway after 2 men shot, killed in Northeast DC | DC News Now
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A double-homicide investigation is underway in the District after two men were found shot in Northeast Sunday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
At 12:03 a.m. on June 22, officers were patrolling near the 1800 block of D Street when they heard the sound of gunshots in the 400 block of 19th Street.
There, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, unconscious and not breathing. After lifesaving efforts by medics, the men were pronounced dead.
Police say the men have been identified as Quonzay Lynch, 30, and Cortney Burley, 41.
Police urge anyone with information to contact (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to 50411 as homicide detectives continue to investigate.
MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide in the District of Columbia, bringing the total reward amount in this case to $50,000.
