Maine man pleads guilty over threats to hunt down, kill undocumented migrants

A Waterville man faces up to five years in prison for threatening to hunt down and kill undocumented immigrants in comments posted to YouTube, according to federal prosecutors in Maine.

Benjamin Brown, 47, pleaded guilty to making threatening interstate communications during an appearance in U.S. District Court in Bangor on Friday.

According to court records, Brown posted the threatening YouTube comments on Feb. 8, 2024. Federal prosecutors said that in his comments, Brown claimed no one could stop him from claiming undocumented migrants, not even law enforcement.

Court documents obtained by Maine’s Total Coverage in March 2024 indicate Brown also threatened former President Joe Biden, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and U.S. senators Susan Collins and Chuck Schumer in YouTube posts and comments over a period of several years.
