South Carolina teen charged after FBI agents intercept alleged plans to carry out terrorist attack

A South Carolina teen has been charged with acts of terrorism after allegedly expressing his support for a foreign terrorist organization and taking proactive steps to carry out an attack, according to state law enforcement.

On Tuesday, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division announced that 17-year-old Daniel Fox Fischer from Horry County was charged with the following on June 9:

Threatening or conspiring to threaten real or personal property using a destructive device
Possessing or using a weapon of mass destruction for an act of terrorism

According to arrest warrants, between April 2024 and Aug. 2024, Fischer communicated his intent to join a foreign terrorist organization and conspired with multiple people to carry out an attack using a destructive device.
