17-year-old arrested on terrorism and weapons charges, accused of threatening statements
A 17-year-old resident of Halfmoon was arrested by State Police on June 17, 2025, for making a threat of mass harm, with assistance from the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest followed an investigation into concerning online statements made by the teen, which led to a search of their home. Authorities discovered written and electronic materials supporting acts of terrorism, along with incendiary device-making materials, instruction manuals, and other weapons.
The adolescent was initially processed at SP Clifton Park and released to a guardian, with a referral to the Saratoga County Probation Department. However, on July 3, 2025, after further evidence review, the teen faced additional charges of soliciting or providing support for an act of terrorism in the second degree and criminal possession of a chemical or biological weapon in the first degree.
