Group accused of detonating explosive device at community pool in York County [SC]
A group was accused of detonating an explosive device at a community pool in York County this month.
The incident reportedly happened around midnight on Saturday, July 5, at a pool along Rhododendron Place near Poplin Place in Clover.
Deputies said a group of people entered a locked community pool area, with two males jumping over the gate. One suspect reportedly grabbed a fake security camera while the other checked a bathroom hallway.
According to reports, the pair then placed an explosive device inside a trash can, set it off, and caused a fireball.
Officers said the group fled in a white car, leaving behind an estimated $5,800 in damage.
