Man arrested in Armagh in connection with IED investigation

Police in Northern Ireland have arrested a man in south Armagh in connection with the discovery of an attempted improvised explosive device.

The discovery was made following the search of a house in Keady in which police recovered and made safe an improvised explosive device.

The man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to make explosives in suspicious circumstances.

He was arrested in the Armagh area today and is said to be assisting police with their enquiries.

Police in Northern Ireland carried out the search at a property in the Tassagh Road area outside Keady in support of an investigation by gardaí in Co Monaghan.
