Man made bomb threats, got into armed standoff at Weston Hospital: State Police

A man is in police custody after state troopers say he made bomb threats toward federal buildings and got into an armed standoff at a Weston hospital.

According to a press release, on Monday, troopers with the West Virginia State Police received multiple reports of a man making bomb threats toward “various government facilities.” While investigating, troopers also received another call reporting that Brandon McGoye, 27, of Huntington, a patient at William R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital, had “armed himself and was engaged in a standoff with facility personnel.”

The release said that troopers from across the region responded to Sharpe Hospital and arrested McGoye without incident and he was found to be responsible for the bomb threats as well.
