Multiple threats, alleged false reports of violence lead to arrest of El Dorado suspect
The El Dorado Police Department arrested a suspect accused of calling in multiple threats and false reports of violence throughout 2024.
Braylen Williams was arrested on July 22, 2025, on charges of threatening to commit an act of mass violence on school property and two counts of falsely communicating a terrorist threat.
El Dorado Police said they received two reports in June 2024, one of which was about a perceived threat to open fire at a local McDonald’s, and another was a similar threat made to the El Dorado Police Department.
El Dorado Police said they received a similar call just a few days later about an active shooter at local apartments, and the caller claimed responsibility while running from the scene. However, once law enforcement arrived, the report was deemed untrue.
