Newport man faces terrorism charges in school bomb threat
A Vermont man has been charged with domestic terrorism after prosecutors say he claimed to have planted bombs inside a school on the first day of classes.
Cypher Aiken, 25, of Newport, appeared in front of a judge on Friday, who decided to hold him without bail until a competency evaluation is completed.
According to the police affidavit, Aiken sent text messages to a friend saying he planted bombs inside North Country Union High School in Newport on Thursday.
