Police: Tucson homicide suspect out on bond caught with pipe bomb
The suspect accused of killing a man in Tucson and burning his body last year is facing more felony charges after authorities found an explosive device in his vehicle during a traffic stop late Wednesday, Oct. 8.
The Tucson Police Department said 44-year-old Christopher Terry Compton was arrested on charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, prohibited possessor, and disorderly conduct. He is being held without bond and has a no-bond hearing on Oct. 14.
During his initial court appearance, the state mentioned that Compton has a pending felony case in Pima County Superior Court.
In that shooting, Compton is accused of killing 39-year-old James Early Hubbard and setting his body on fire in a desert area in the 4300 block of South Pantano Road on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024.
