Two indicted for arson and terrorism support in Alabama Walmart fire

A federal grand jury has indicted Lillian Jayne Colburn, 26, and Mercutio Terrell Southall, 41, both of Birmingham, Ala., on charges of arson and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists.

The charges stem from a fire set at the Walmart Supercenter on Lakeshore Parkway in Homewood, Ala., on Aug. 22, 2025.

The U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona announced the two-count indictment filed in U.S. District Court.
