Fairfield [ME] man charged after gunfire damages three CMP substations in Kennebec County
A Fairfield man is facing charges after authorities say he fired multiple gunshots at three Central Maine Power substations in Kennebec County early Sunday morning.
Law enforcement agencies are investigating the incidents, which happened between about midnight and 4:15 a.m. on Feb. 15, in Windsor, Winslow and Augusta.
At approximately 12:15 a.m., Maine State Police troopers responded to the Coopers Mills substation off Barton Road in Windsor after receiving a report of shots fired. Later, just before 4 a.m., officers with the Winslow Police Department were called to the substation on Benton Avenue in Winslow. Around 4:15 a.m., officers from the Augusta Police Department responded to a similar report at the substation on Capital Street in Augusta.
