2 Volusia County boys arrested a day apart for allegedly making threats to kill, deputies say
Two Volusia County students have been arrested in under 48 hours, accused of making written threats to kill.
On Thursday, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office arrested an 11-year-old boy accused of sending a message to seven teachers at DeLand Middle School with the words “imma shoot you.”
The boy, according to the sheriff’s office, was already in a diversion program for a similar arrest last October for sending a group message on a school communication platform with the words “IM GONNA SHOOT YOU” while attending Southwestern Middle School.
On Wednesday, deputies arrested a 10-year-old Pride Elementary student, accusing him of writing on a classroom whiteboard that he’d bring a gun to school and leaving a “list of people who i’m gunna kill [sic]” in a desk.
