Man arrested at Michigan City church with explosive devices, firearm

A man was arrested at a Michigan City Church and is facing multiple charges, including Attempted Murder and Possession of a Destructive Device or Explosive.

Matthew Schutz,41, was sitting with parishioners at the Full Gospel Church in the 2700 block of Ohio Street on March 11. Schutz attempted to flee the scene as police approached him.

According to police, Schutz was found in possession of multiple explosive devices when he was apprehended.

Schutz was there to allegedly shoot a parishioner and armed with explosives and a firearm.
