Prosecutor: Teen accused of planning mass shooting had school layout, red-line path and names of people to kill
Two Ellensburg teenagers have been arrested for allegedly plotting a mass shooting at Morgan Middle School.
The two girls were both students at the school. Felony charges of harassment and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder may come as early as March 25.
Authorities said one of the two girls had a hand-drawn layout of the school, with a route marked by a red line and the names of the people she wanted to shoot and kill.
Concerns about the two girls were raised last week by school staff.
On March 11, the school’s dean of students contacted police and said two students had shared worries about two of their former friends.
The pair were “fixated” on school shootings and school massacres. Police learned the teens had been talking about “Zero Day,” a 2002 film where two outcast students plan a school massacre.
