Texas high school shooting leaves student dead, teacher hospitalized
A 15-year-old student shot a teacher at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde before shooting himself, according to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office. The student died at the scene, and the teacher was transported to a San Antonio hospital.
The teacher’s name has not been released.
“At this time, we do not have an update on her condition,” the sheriff’s office said.
No other injuries were reported.
The school went into lockdown Monday morning around 8:34 a.m., according to an email sent to parents by principal Julie Wiley. Deputies from the Comal County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire near Mustang Vista, an area near the school.
