“Terrorgram” network dealt another blow as member sentenced in Denmark

A Danish-French national has been sentenced to six years in prison for terrorism-related offences by the District Court in Glostrup, following an investigation supported by Europol’s European Counter Terrorism Centre (ECTC). A Europol specialist was called to testify during the court proceedings. This underscores the European Law Enforcement Agency’s role in supporting judicial authorities with expert analysis.

The 30-year-old man, based in the suburbs of Copenhagen, was convicted of producing and disseminating far-right extremist propaganda and providing guidance in support of the online extremist network known as “Terrorgram”. Through multiple profiles on the encrypted messaging platform Telegram, he played a central and active role in the network’s activities.

“Terrorgram” refers to a decentralised network of Telegram channels promoting militant accelerationism and neo-Nazi ideology. The network has published propaganda material and shared manuals for carrying out terrorist attacks, including against critical infrastructure, while glorifying perpetrators as “saints”. It is designated as a terrorist organisation in several jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Europol’s contribution to the case forms part of its wider efforts initiated in 2022 to map the Terrorgram network and identify key individuals linked to it across borders. During the proceedings, Europol provided testimony in court, helping to contextualise the structure, ideology and transnational reach of the Terrorgram network. This contribution supported national authorities in building a comprehensive case.
