Former Fort Stewart sergeant sentenced to six consecutive life sentences in 2025 shooting

Former Army Sgt. Quornelius S. Radford has been sentenced to six consecutive life sentences with the possibility of parole in connection with the 2025 shooting at Fort Stewart.

A military judge handed down the sentence Tuesday at the Fort Stewart courtroom.

Five people, including four Soldiers and Radford’s fiancé, were wounded in the mass shooting last August on post. A sixth person was shot at but not hit.

In addition to the six life sentences, Radford was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge from the Army, reduction in rank to E-1, forfeiture of all pay and allowances and 321 days of confinement credit.

Radford, 29, is from Jacksonville, Florida. According to the Army Office of Special Trial Counsel, he was an automated logistics sergeant assigned to A Company, 703rd Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division.

On June 18, a military judge found Radford guilty of two specifications of attempted premeditated murder and four specifications of attempted unpremeditated murder.
