Springfield man arrested after making threats at a Herndon restaurant

A 19-year-old Springfield man was arrested after allegedly threatening people with a gun at a restaurant in Herndon early Saturday morning.

Herndon Police responded to a restaurant in the 100 block of Elden Street around 2:30 a.m. for reports of a man in the parking lot making threats with a firearm. When officers arrived, they detained a suspect who police say was making threats to people inside the restaurant.

Police arrested 19-year-old Brown Callahan of Springfield.

Police say they found a semi-automatic rifle along with two 30-round magazines which carried a total of 51 rounds of ammunition.

Callahan was charged with a concealed weapon violation. Callahan was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was released on an unsecured bond.
