Okaloosa County deputies arrest teenage girl after school threat post

A teenage girl was arrested in Okaloosa County on Sunday after investigators traced a threatening social media post that referenced local schools.

Investigators determined the teen did not appear to have access to weapons, and the threat was not deemed credible, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said its school resource officers, patrol deputies, and Investigations Division worked to identify the person behind the post and assess the credibility of the threat, and that the coordinated effort led investigators to the suspect.

Earlier, deputies said the threatening message circulating on TikTok and directed toward students at Pryor and Bruner middle schools was under investigation in Okaloosa County.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Okaloosa County School District said they were working together to identify the person or people responsible for the post and determine whether it was credible, adding they were taking the matter seriously and following established investigation protocols.
