Police: Suspect sought after threatening shooting, bombing at Ballinger store
The Ballinger Police Department is searching for information on possible suspects after a man allegedly threatened to commit a shooting and bombing at a local store if demands for $1,000 through a gift card were not met.
According to a statement issued by the department during the early morning hours of Feb. 6, the incident began at approximately 9:04 p.m. on Feb. 5 after a male subject contacted the Walmart in Ballinger, Texas. The man reportedly “made a threat to come into the store with a gun and shoot everyone and would discharge a pipe bomb.”
A BPD officer spoke with the suspect over the phone while another officer and an off-duty firefighter secured the store’s entrance. Additional police officers arrived to secure entry points to the business’s parking lot.
