Young Egyptian man linked to ISIS-K arrested, planning attacks on stadiums and churches
A young man of Egyptian origin, already known to the authorities for previous investigations related to jihadist propaganda, was reached by a new precautionary custody order in prison notified by the State Police on charges of participation in an association for the purposes of international terrorism.
The provision was issued by GIP at the request of the District Attorney’s Office of Brescia, in light of further investigative evidence gathered during an anti-terrorism investigation coordinated by the Brescia judiciary.
The suspect is accused of being part of a structure linked to the jihadist group Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), one of the most active and dangerous branches of the Islamic State.
