3 Teens Face Charges After Threatening Clinton Middle School Shooting; Multiple Firearms Secured
A reported threat of a shooting at the Clinton Middle School cafeteria led to multiple juveniles being investigated and firearms secured in the Town of Kirkland.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 1:42 a.m. on April 11 to an address in Kirkland after a threat was made about a shooting planned for April 17 at Clinton Middle School.
Deputies conducted a mental health check on a 14-year-old girl, who was then taken to Wynn Hospital for evaluation.
Later that day, a 13-year-old girl was also located, interviewed and transported to Wynn Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Investigators went to a third juvenile’s residence in Kirkland and secured multiple firearms, then visited a fourth juvenile in Boonville, where more firearms were turned over voluntarily.
The fourth juvenile is not considered a suspect.
