Feds: Convicted duo in deadly 2019 Clearfield bombing sentenced to life in prison

Two men convicted for their respective roles in a deadly 2019 bombing that killed a Clearfield County woman will both spend the rest of their lives behind bars.

Clint Addleman, the man who has been described as the ‘mastermind’ behind the bombing, appeared in federal court Wednesday morning where he was given two life sentences in connection to the death of 34-year-old Shanna Carlson.

Judge Stephanie Haines called his actions “pure evil,” saying she has no intention of letting him walk the streets again.

In October 2019, investigators say Carlson was killed by a bomb that was left in a package outside her East Market Street apartment in Clearfield.

Officials say Addleman conspired to kill her over an unpaid drug debt and reportedly solicited co-conspirator Kris Nevling to deliver the package.

Later in the day, Nevling also appeared in federal court where he too was sentenced to serve life in prison.

Prosecutors argued that Addleman not only killed Carlson but also put the entire community and first responders at risk.
