Mother’s Discovery Leads to Arrest: Explosive Devices Uncovered in Leesburg

Authorities have taken a significant step towards ensuring public safety as an arrest was made in connection with the discovery of explosive devices in Leesburg. Twenty-two year old Luke Scott Pratt, the defendant, faces charges of manufacturing explosive devices with the intent to cause harm, in violation of Florida State Statute 790.161(j).

The Lake County Hazardous Devices Team was called into action on June 21, 2023, in response to a report regarding five explosive devices located on Casteen Road in Leesburg, Florida. The devices were initially discovered by the defendant’s mother, prompting a swift and coordinated response from law enforcement.

These developments come in the wake of suspicions linking Pratt to an arson incident at the Masonic Lodge in Leesburg, Florida. The Lodge had fallen victim to a destructive fire, and Pratt emerged as a suspect in that incident as well.
