3 people shot dead before house set on fire in Los Angeles County

A deadly shooting claimed three lives and a house was set on fire in the Antelope Valley overnight.

According to a bulletin released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department early Saturday morning, detectives responded to the 44500 block of North Tabler Avenue in Lancaster at 1:27 a.m. Saturday on calls of a shooting.

It is believed that a party was being held at the home at the time.

Los Angeles County Fire Department Battalion Chief Randy Perry told KTLA that crews responded to the location and saw smoke and fire showing.

Five victims were found inside the burning home, Perry said, three of whom were pulled out by the sheriff’s department and the other two by firefighters.

Four of the five people rescued from the home had sustained gunshot wounds. The fifth person inside the home was extracted by firefighters and not injured.

She was the one to call 911 while hiding in her room and fearing for her life, investigators told KTLA 5’s Omar Lewis. Several residents of the home who were not present at the time — including teenagers — are being interviewed by detectives at the Lancaster sheriff’s station.
