Man charged in bomb hoax at US Embassy in London
A man was charged in connection with last week’s bomb hoax outside the U.S. Embassy in London, authorities from the U.K. said Monday.
Daniel Parmenter, 43, was charged and taken into custody Monday, after appearing at Ealing Magistrates’ Court. He was arrested at his home Sunday.
The legal developments come after U.K. police on Friday carried out a controlled explosion of a suspicious package that they discovered outside the U.S. Embassy.
“We can confirm that the ‘loud bang’ reported in the area a short time ago was a controlled explosion carried out by officers,” London’s Metropolitan Police wrote Friday in a post on social platform X.
