Incoming West Virginia House of Delegates member accused of making terroristic threats
An incoming member of the West Virginia House of Delegates was arrested overnight for making terroristic threats, troopers said.
Joseph Desoto, who won election to represent District 91 in November, is accused of making several threatening/intimidating threats against government officials, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police.
“The West Virginia State Police and the West Virginia Capitol Police take all threats against government process seriously,” the agency said. “Any person making these threats used to intimidate, disrupt, or coerce the members of our West Virginia legislature or other governmental bodies will not be tolerated.”
No details regarding the threats were provided. Troopers said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
