SAPD: Man who claimed to have explosive device as he approached gate at JBSA-Lackland arrested
A man is in custody after claiming he had an explosive device strapped to his back as he approached the Luke East Gate at JBSA-Lackland.
San Antonio police say it happened just after 4:30 a.m. Monday.
They report that security personnel at the base took the appropriate action when they cordoned off the area and conducted appropriate sweeps.
They found no explosive devices and the man has been taken into custody. His name hasn’t been released.
Luke East Gate has since reopened to traffic.
