Swedish police say ‘around 10 dead’ in Örebro campus shooting

Örebro police district chief Roberto Eid Forest told media on Tuesday evening that around 10 people were killed in the shooting at the Campus Risbergska adult education centre.

“The suspected assailant is not known to police,” he said.

The shooting took place shortly before lunchtime with initial reports claiming five people had been injured.

But at a press conference on Tuesday evening police announced the death toll was 10 and said they believed the shooter was among the dead.

Forest said Swedish police believe the gunman acted alone but did not rule out they had accomplices. He said the motive was not known at this stage.
